About Me

FOR BLOG

Hi! My name is Erin, a twenty-six twenty-eight (now) year old still figuring out her life. This is attempt number three at a blog (third times the charm, right?) You can see my other two failed attempts at:

http://erin-anamericaninparis.blogspot.com/ and http://erin-in-lyon.blogspot.com/

You see I can’t get past a few posts, but hopefully that will change here!

This isn’t a conventional blog. This is a three-part blog – part travel (wanderings), part thoughts (wonderings*), part what ever I feel like. I have lived in three countries so far, U.S.A, France, and Hong Kong, (have you noticed a 3 theme going on?) and I want to share a bit with all of you. I have been able to do and see some amazing things, and my life has changed dramatically.

If you knew me while I still lived in the states, you would know I was a homebody and extremely family-oriented. While I am still extremely family-oriented, I am not so much a homebody anymore. I first got the “bug” when I visited France with my high school French class the summer before senior year. It was then and there that I decided I was going to someday live in France. The first picture is from that trip.
My second time abroad was during my university study abroad semester in Paris. This was the first time living so far away from my family and I really became the independent girl that I am today.
After I graduated college I got my “dream job” of teaching English in France! I was sent to a small town outside of Lyon, France, where I learned how tough it really is to live abroad, travel Europe, and have no money (welcome to reality!). The third picture is from that time.
Unfortunately, my dream job was only for one year and I had to wait a year to reapply. In the mean time, I tried to show my dad that I was a responsible young woman and applied to random teaching jobs in Asia, never expecting to get one. Low and behold, two days after I applied to one in Hong Kong I got a job, and two months later I moved here. This represents the 4th picture.

I will have a mix between past travel experiences, current ones, life in Hong Kong NOW Chicago, and overall life. Join me in some of my crazy adventures and thoughts while I try to get through this insane game called life.

*Yes, I know wonderings is NOT a word, but I’m coining it today. You can have many thoughts, why can’t you have many wonderings?

  2. Hi Erin, would you mind emailing me when you get a chance? I have a quick question about your blog.

  3. Hey Erin,

Nice to ‘meet’ you and thank you for nominating us for the award. Excuse my ignorance on the matter but if we wanted to take part in this, what exactly do we need to do? Create a post with your questions?

Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from you.

    • Hi Valter & Giulia,

Do not worry, I should have explained it better! We are in the same Travel Blog group on Facebook, and I wanted to help promote some members! Basically, should you choose to accept, you make a post answering my questions, then you get to come up with your own questions and nominate other bloggers to answer them! It helps introduce readers to new bloggers.

I hope you accept, as I would love to read your answers, but no pressure! 🙂

      Erin
